So, we’re almost there! In a few days, my maternity hiatus will officialy begin. I must confess I have mixed feelings about this: I’m so happy to start focussing on myself and the baby, but I’m sure I’ll somehow miss my freelancing routine.

However, since I’m a girl with a plan at heart, I’ve already scheduled a few activities to keep me busy… Okay, more than just a few! 🙂 Long story short, this is basically what I hope to achieve in this period as far as my business is concerned:

  1. Refreshing my mind. I’m sure that, especially in the first days, I will feel like I’m on holiday. I really hope I’ll be able to relax and keep the stress at bay.
  2. Studying. Due to extra tasks and extra tiredness, lately I haven’t been able to study as much as I’d have liked. I really hope to catch up with a few online courses as well as with some papers I’ve collected in the last few months.
  3. Disconnecting. I’m also planning to partially go offline at least for some time. Of course, I’ll regularly check my e-mail inbox and the PMs received on my social networks, but I won’t be as active as before.
  4. Seeing things from another perspective. Thanks to all of this, at the end of these four months, I should be able to approach my business in a new way, with lots of ideas and improvement strategies. I guess any business-owner might benefit from a “sabbatical period” to reflect on her standpoint as well as her next steps… Of course, I’ll keep you posted on the outcome of this process.
